How to check  PF balance without logging in to your UAN account

EPF, or Employee Provident Fund, is a government-backed retirement savings scheme that is applicable to all salaried employees in India. It is a mandatory scheme that requires both the employer and the employee to contribute a certain percentage of the employee's salary to the EPF account. The EPF scheme is managed by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), which is a statutory body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.

As an EPF member, it is essential to keep track of your EPF balance to ensure that your contributions are being credited correctly. Checking your EPF balance can be done easily, even without logging in to your UAN (Universal Account Number). In this article, we will discuss three simple ways to check your EPF balance without logging in to your UAN.

Using the UMANG app

The UMANG app is a mobile application that offers a variety of government services, including EPF-related services. To check your EPF balance using the UMANG app, you need to download and install the app on your smartphone. Once installed, you need to register on the app using your mobile number and link your EPF account. To do this, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Open the UMANG app and click on 'EPFO' under the 'Central' tab.

Step 2: Select the 'Employee Centric Services' option and click on 'View Passbook.'

Step 3: Enter your EPF account number and registered mobile number.

Step 4: Click on 'Get OTP' and enter the OTP received on your mobile number.

Step 5: Once authenticated, you will be able to view your EPF balance.

Using the UMANG app to check your EPF balance is a hassle-free and quick process. You can also use the app to download your EPF passbook, track your EPF claim status, and update your KYC details.

By giving a missed call

Another simple way to check your EPF balance is by giving a missed call to the EPFO toll-free number, 011-22901406. This service is available only to those members whose UAN is activated and linked to their Aadhaar card. Here's how you can check your EPF balance using this method:

Step 1: Ensure that your UAN is activated and linked to your Aadhaar card.

Step 2: Give a missed call to the EPFO toll-free number, 011-22901406, from your registered mobile number.

Step 3: After giving the missed call, you will receive an SMS containing your EPF balance.

The missed call facility is a convenient option for those who do not have access to the internet or are not comfortable using mobile apps. However, this service is available only to UAN-activated members.

Through the EPFO website

The EPFO website is the official website of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation, and it offers a range of EPF-related services. To check your EPF balance through the EPFO website, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Visit the EPFO website, https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php.

Step 2: Click on the 'For Employees' option under the 'Our Services' tab.

Step 3: Select the 'Member Passbook' option and enter your UAN and password.

Step 4: Click on 'Login' and select the member ID for which you want to view the passbook.

Step 5: Once you have selected the member ID, you will be able to view your EPF balance and other details.

Using the EPFO website to check your EPF balance is a reliable and secure method.
