How to check PF account balance

Provident Fund (PF) is a retirement savings scheme in India that is aimed at providing financial security to employees after their retirement. The scheme is managed by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), which is a statutory body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. If you are a member of the PF scheme, it is essential to keep track of your PF balance regularly. In this article, we will guide you on how to check your PF balance.

Why is it important to check your PF balance?

The primary objective of the PF scheme is to provide financial security to employees after their retirement. To achieve this objective, employees and their employers make regular contributions to the PF account. The amount contributed by the employee and the employer is credited to the PF account and earns interest over time. Hence, it is essential to keep track of your PF balance to know the amount of money you have saved for your retirement.

Moreover, checking your PF balance regularly also helps you to detect any discrepancies or errors in your PF account, such as incorrect contributions, missing contributions, or delayed payments. Detecting such errors early can help you to rectify them quickly and avoid any issues in the future.
